The MINOLTA MAXXUM 7000 AF Collection here features a Camera, 50mm Lens & 2800 Flash all showing the initial
crossed XXs. as first released in 1985. Shortly thereafter, a suit was file against MINOLTA for using the crossed XXs logo and
most of these pieces were removed from dealers stock and sent back to the factory.
The MAXXUM 7000 AF System may be crude by today's standards, but it was the first fully integrated programmable Auto
Focus System and would set the direction for AF design for many years going forward, making these initial release components
highly collectible.
As the images show, the Camera, Lens & Flash are in very fine collectible condition. The Camera shows absolutely no bleed in the LCD displays
and still retains the bottom adhesive plastic protector. The Flash charges super fast and has absolutely no battery corrosion.
However, the highlight of this auction is likely the 40 Page 11-1/4" X 8-1/4" initial 7000AF System Promotional Dealer Book which illustrates
the advanced engineering principles incorporated into this very sophisticated system with wonderful details, drawings & photos.
Not many of these were printed & this book is almost impossible to find today.
Aside from the important crossed XXs components & pamphlets, this auction includes three types of battery holder options and three types of backs,
all in excellent cosmetic & working condition as well. The Camera & Flash Cases are like New. The Program Back Super 70 also comes in its blue
plastic Case which holds an extra View Screen with installing tweezers.
It appears that all components are functioning correctly...the Camera/Lens combo focus fast and accurately; the Flash powers very quickly and bursts correctly.
Both the Program Back 70 & Program Back Super 70 power up when batteries are installed but have not been fully tested in terms of functionality.
All three different MAXXUM 70 Camera battery holders are clean and functional....these allow for a number of  battery options, but please keep in mind
that the Camera Case will only fit when the "AAA" Battery option is mounted to the Camera.
The 40 Page illustrated Dealer Promo Pamphlet shows some scuffs on the cover, but the inside pages are very clean, as shown.
Downsizing here, so regretfully, must let these go for someone else to enjoy....Again, the 40 page MAXXUM 7000AF Promo book will prove to be the
most important reference for the Serious MINOLTA Collector.
